Apple’s iPad is becoming a delivery vehicle for newspapers, magazines and books. Journals are delivered electronically, on-demand, in a PDF format either through Internet or cellular phone networks. To save printing and delivery costs, publishing houses are focusing on electronic delivery of newspapers and magazines through iPad-like devices. Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other companies are likely to introduce similar full color letter-size gadgets in coming years.
The iPad utilizes touch screen sensors to provide a large virtual keyboard, allowing for fast typing and emailing. When it comes to everyday routines like text typing, emailing, internet browsing or movie watching this device can substitute a laptop.
