Reports over mass media that BP does not follow EPA requests to cease using Corexit, a despersant, puts additional strain between the White House and the company. Meanwhile, Dr. Steven Chu (www.facebook.com/stevenchu), US Secretary of Energy, who direcly reports to President Obama on BP oil spill, is in the hot spot between Obama and BP response team. As reported, Steven Chu helped to do “equipment X-ray” to analyze why deepwater riser failed to stop oil flow after explosion. The X-ray revealed that some of the valves, but not all, did block oil flow. BP is in preparation for Wednesday “mud” shoot into the well. The mud shoot technique is reported to have 70% success, although was never performed this deep underwater. There is also a possibility that mud shoot can block the main pipe and cause oil to leak through other “holes”. BP is currently analyzing “X-ray” of failed equipment, well riser, to determine the best course of actions.
